VUKARI One of the best parts of my youth. Fila Brazillia blew my mind with their organic sounding funky electronica. It has been too long and The music hasn't aged even remotely. A long way into the future while humbly bowing to the past. Fila are one powerful, funny and complex organism.

maxdubs This album is one of the top 10 best albums of all electronic music and the best for me among other Fila Brazzilia albums. It's rare to like all the tracks on an album, this is the case here. The record is cool recorded non-stop, but you can visually see where the track ends. This is handy for use in DJ sets. Favorite track: Throwing Down A Shape.

downtempo_nomad Funky, fresh and full of surprises, a new direction for Fila Brazillia but a great album nonetheless. Favorite track: The Speewah.

pobsellors i bought a new car, new for me, 2005 Saab. it has a tape player! tonight's selection was from a community radio show i was part of, Disco Babes from Outer Space 2001ish Bay FM, Byron Bay, New South Wales. on comes this sample.."i love jazz music" or something like that and then the start of Feathery Legs. I didn't know it at the the time but I racked my brain through the distant files and realised my fondness (weird word) for the Fila bizniss.... so thanks for the Bandcamp connection, easy peasy Favorite track: Bumpkin Riots.

The eclecticism and organic warmth of Fila Brazillia's electronica continue to amaze on Power Clown, one of their finest efforts to date. Laid-back jazz-funk grooves straight out of the '70s are the foundation of the record, but hints of Stevie Wonder-esque soul, hip-hop, bossa nova, ambient, spacey techno, house, minimalist electro, big-beat and trip-hop all pop up here and there, as do touches of ethnic percussion, acoustic guitar, saxophone solos, new age-y synth flourishes, and the occasional odd vocal sample or sound effect. What really pushes Power Clown over the top, though, is that the group maintains their focus throughout, never meandering and changing things up often enough to keep the grooves from becoming repetitive. One of the finest and most over-looked electronic-dance releases of 1998.
